Other Tidbits…

Q: What else do you want people to know about The Banqueting Table?

Brenda and I focus on providing a supportive, encouraging environment for the women we hire.    We want them to consider while working with us whether they would like to further their education by applying for the educational grants that we make available or to use Banqueting Table as a stepping stone to gain confidence in the work place.

Q: Social Enterprise vs ministry?

We needed to look up Social Enterprise on the internet before we went to speak with someone who was interviewing us as a Social Enterprise.  We now understand it to mean having a company that is interested in the well-being of the employee and being a company that benefits people’s lives and the surrounding community.  This definitely is a definition that would be equal to what drives Brenda and me to do what we do.  We are blessed to have the opportunity to work with amazing women during significant chapters in their lives.  We all share a common goal; to feed our families, care for our children, learn new skills, build confidence and to find friendship and support.  We also love to do amazing work with food and to serve our clients with grace and care.  Our work is a ministry of love.  “We are not called by God to do extraordinary things, but to do ordinary things with extraordinary love, “ – Jean Vanier

Q: Tell us about mentorship?

Our ministry is to the single moms we hire and the families that they represent. We are concerned about the whole person. Our mentorship includes coming alongside women and believing that they can accomplish what they set out to do.   It’s about being a family where there is safety. We strive at the Banqueting Table to accept people where they are.   At whatever skill level. We can all learn and grow and we focus on this truth.
